On this first day of October not only did the official announcement come that the Thanksgiving game will be played at Fenway Park but there was also a slew of action for the other Raider teams. Let’s see how they did.

The Red Sox just released ticket information for the two high school doubleheaders which of course includes the Wellesley-Needham game. Tickets will go on sale beginning next Thursday, October 8th at noon and will cost just $20 each. So Peter Santo, Wellesley High Senior and editor of the Wellesley High newspaper the Bradford, who also is a supporter of Wellesley Sports Blitz was on hand at the official announcement this morning at Fenway and was kind enough to send along some pictures from the event. Included in the pictures from Wellesley is coach Jesse Davis and captains Jake Mohan, Will Cramer, and Griffin Morgan

So it’s officially official, the 128th installment of the oldest public school rivalry in the country between your Wellesley Raiders and the Needham Rockets will take place Thanksgiving morning at 9 am at Fenway Park as part of a 2 day 4 game event. Now I for one am thrilled about this and can’t wait to see one of my favorite teams at my favorite ball park. But I wanted to throw it out to you the reader, do you think having this age old rivalry at Fenway this year is a good idea or not?
