Following the Super 8 play in games last night the MIAA officially released the D1 South boys hockey bracket. Your Wellesley Raiders were seeded second and earn a bye into the quarterfinals, where they will meet the winner of Natick/Weymouth. Time, location, and date have yet to be announced, but as always stay tuned to our weekly schedule as one that information becomes official it’ll be posted on there!

Tournament time officially began tonight in Raider Nation as boys basketball squared off with Marshfield at home in the D1 South Preliminary Round. The boys who battled their way to an 11-11 regular season record were looking for at least one tournament win after missing the tournament a year ago. Could they get the job done, let’s find out!

It’s the last Monday in February and with the start of another week, it’s a good time for another edition of Monday Poll. In last week’s poll I asked you if you liked the new Wellesley High turf football field, and out of the 5 votes, 3 did not like it, while 2 did. This week’s poll takes a bit of a look forward as spring is fast approaching and thus spring sports as well. The question is… which spring sport do you the reader enjoy playing/watching the most? It’s tournament time! This week  4 Raider teams open up tournament play and are all looking for deep runs in their respective sectionals. As is always the case with these tournament week schedules the schedule will be updated based on results of the early rounds. As the clock flips to Friday it is time for another stirring edition of Raider Friday Trivia. Today’s question will possibly land one lucky reader a Dunkin Donuts gift card. So I will be away from the blog tomorrow-mid day Sunday so I won’t be able to post the tournament seedings as they happen, but I will have all the first round matchups, dates and times in the weekly schedule on Sunday. Tonight was the final night of games of the 2016-17 winter sport regular season, and there was some awesome action on the docket as it was senior night for the girls hockey team taking on unbeaten Beverly/Danvers while boys hockey traveled to Waltham to try to ruin the Hawks senior night. Could both teams end the regular season on a high note heading into postseason play, let’s find out!
