It was boys hockey’s turn to open up the postseason tonight as they boys headed to Canton to take on a familiar foe Walpole in the first round. In other action the alpine ski team participated in the state championship meet. How would it all turn out, lets find out!

It’s the most wonderful time of the year, postseason play, and it began tonight for girls basketball as the 2nd seeded Raiders hosted a familiar foe Walpole in the first round of the D1 South bracket. Having already beaten Walpole once this year could the Raiders make it 2 for 2 in the most important game, lets find out!

It’s the Monday after February vacation week, and what better way to kick off the week than with another edition of Monday Poll. School is back in session this week and postseason play also kicks off for 4 Raider teams, as both basketball’s and both hockey’s begin the chase for a state title. As is always the case with tournament schedules the schedule is subject to change based on results. Also the dates and times for hockey have not yet been finalized so I will update when those are announced. Lastly being that it is a fluid schedule, I am only posting the days with games to start. All that being said here’s the schedule!

There was some action in Raider sports today and it was important as both indoor track teams competed at the all-state meet while in wrestling Sophie Laing competed for the girls all state title. We’ll find out how it all went in a moment but first here’s the answer to yesterday’s trivia question! The last time Wellesley and Walpole in a girls basketball tournament game was in 2009 when Walpole upset Wellesley 64-60 in overtime in the D2 South quarterfinals. Now onto the recap!

Wrestling: Sophie Laing won girls all state title for 135 pounds!
The second of two days of bracket releases commenced today as both boys and girls hockey brackets were unveiled. The boys bracket is yet to be determined as it is based on the results of Monday’s Super 8 play in games. The girls earned the 5th seed in D2 as they look to defend their state title and they will take on the winner of Canton and Norwood in the first round. All this will be on the weekly schedule which will be unveiled tomorrow!
Today was day 1 of 2 of bracket unveiling for basketball and hockey, as the Raider boys and girls hoops teams found out their tournament destiny. The boys earned the 4 seed in D1 South and will host Durfee in the first round Tuesday, while the girls earned the 2 seed and will host familiar foe Walpole in the first round Monday. Both games will be included in Sunday’s daily schedule!

The 2018-19 winter sports regular season officially came to an end tonight as boys hockey closed out their regular season with a visit to Waltham. Could the boys finish on a high note heading into postseason play, lets find out!
