Two days ago I asked the question of what were readers favorite spring sports to watch and there were several different responses. Of the 11 total votes (thank you to everyone who voted) the top choice was… Baseball! Here are the full official results.
Track and Field: 1
Yesterday I posed the question of what people’s favorite spring sports were to watch? So far I’ve gotten one response, but would love more, so please send me your choices by tomorrow and I will post the results then!
With spring sports at the pro, college, high school, and youth levels kicking off this month and next, I wanted to put out there to you the reader, what spring sport do you enjoy watching the most? It could be professional, or little league, just send us your favorites, either in the comments section, or on Facebook or Twitter, and I will post the results in the coming days!

For our last spring sports preview we take a look at the girls golf and boys volleyball teams who both are coming off very successful 2015 campaigns. Here’s a look at what you need to know about both these teams!
2015 record: 17-3
Notes: The girls had quite the season in 2015 winning over 80% of their matches. This years team will certainly have high expectations but if 2015 is any indication they certainly are capable of achieving more great things this season. We wish the girls the best of luck in this upcoming campaign.
2015 record: 12-10
Tournament: Lost to Barnstable in first round
Notes: Despite the record 2015 was a very successful season for the boys as they were able to get a home match in the tournament, even though it ended in a tough loss to Barnstable. The Raiders will look to continue the success they have garnered over the past few seasons as they enter this new campaign. Look for the boys to compete for a Bay State Herget title and tournament berth once again.
So for today’s Good Friday edition of Raider Friday Trivia I asked when was the last time a Raider boys lacrosse team won the state title. The answer is… 2006 when the boys defeated Minnechaug to capture the D2 state crown!
Next up in the second to last spring preview post, we take a look at the boys and girls track teams, who are both trying to race their way to a Herget title this season as well as more impressive showings in the all-state meets. Here’s some of what you need to know about the teams heading into this campaign.
2015 record: 2-3
Notes: While the boys finished the middle of the pack last year in terms of conference standing they certainly had their fair share of exciting moments and also had quite a number of runners fare well in the all-state meets. The boys will be looking to continue that into this season and try to get back to the top of the league standings.
2015 record: 5-0
Notes: Needless to say the girls had an impressive 2015 campaign capturing the Herget title and like their male counterparts sending several athletes to the all-state meets. The girls will look to once again sit atop the Herget division race and carry all their 2015 success in what hopes to be as successful a 2016 season.
It’s a Good Friday edition today of Raider Friday Trivia so without any further ado here is today’s question. When was the last time a WHS boys lacrosse team won the state title? Answer later tonight!
