It’s the last Monday of January, it’s super bowl week and it’s also time for another edition of Monday poll which while sticking to sports will be a bit off the Wellesley sports track this week. Last week’s poll results first off saw Needham take home the title of biggest rival with 4 of the 7 votes. As we leave January and enter February, the importance of each game, each point, each win continue to grow as we come down the home stretch of the 2016-17 winter sports regular season. It was certainly a busy last Saturday of January for Raider fans as not only did both hockey teams square off with Walpole in key Herget division contests but also wrestling traveled to Concord Carlisle for a quad meet. Before we get to those results, however here’s the answer to yesterday’s trivia question. The answer is… true, the Raider boys hockey team were eliminated the last two years by Franklin and Hingham respectively who both went on claim D1 State titles. No winner this week so the Dunkin Gift Card will wait another week. Now onto the recap!
