Field Hockey Tournament Info

Another Raider team found out it’s tournament fate today as Field Hockey brackets were announced by the MIAA. The Raider field hockey team earned the 8 seed in the D1 South bracket and will host a first round game Friday at 2:30 vs. Braintree at Sprague. The winner will advance to the quarterfinals Sunday to take on the winner of Dennis Yarmouth and Dighton Rehoboth/Duxbury. The weekly schedule has been updated to reflect this.

Schedule For Week Of 10-31

This week begins for most teams a special time of any season, the state tournament. With brackets being announced early this week for most sports, this schedule will be light to start but I will be filling in the tournament games as they become avaliable. That being said here’s a look at this weeks schedule so far!

Raider Recap 10-30-16

There was some rare Sunday action on this second to last day of October, as girls soccer closed out their season on the road at Weston while girls swimming traveled down to the road to Wellesley College for the Bay State Conference Championships. Could girls soccer end the season on a high note and how would swim fare, let’s find out!

Raider Recap 10-29-16 (Plus Trivia Answer)

Today was a big day in Raider’s athletics, as the first game to be played at the new and improved Hunnewell Field took place as the Raider football team took on Hingham in their playoff opener. Also Boys and Girls Cross Country competed in the Bay State Championships. First though here’s the answer to yesterday’s trivia question. The answer is… Mansfield as the Raider football team fell to the eventual state champion Hornets back in 2013 in the first playoff game under the new format. Now onto the recap!

Boys Hoops To Also Play At Garden

Yesterday I told you the exciting news that the Wellesley Girls Hoops team will be playing January 8th at TD Garden as part of the Good Sports Invitational. Today I found out that the Boys Hoops team will also be taking part in the day of hoops on the Garden parquet floor! The boys will be taking on none other than the Needham Rockets! Like the girls the boys have one other appearance in the Good Sports Invitational a win over St Johns Prep back in 2014. Game time info for both games will become available as the event gets closer!

Wellesley-Hingham Playoff Preview

For the second straight year the Wellesley High football team, fresh off their Herget Divison championship will host a playoff game this Saturday at 1 pm vs. Hingham, in the first game played at the new WHS turf field. In preparation for the contest, here’s a look at how these teams got here, and how they match up in some key categories.

Girls Hoops To Play at Garden Again

Exciting news today per the Wellesley Girls Hoops Twitter page, with the announcement that the team will play for the second straight year at the TD Garden as part of the Good Sports Invitational! The game will be played January 8th against Lincoln Sudbury. Wellesley defeated Needham last year on the Garden floor.
