So we had some more exciting tournament action today with field hockey hosting Hingham and then a consolation football game at the Raiders traveled to King Philip. Before that however it’s time for today’s trivia answer. The correct answer is 2004 for the last time girls soccer won a state title as the girls that year captured the D2 crown with a win over Belchertown in the state final. Now onto the scores from today.

Boys Soccer: Wellesley 2 New Bedford 1 MIAA D1 South First Round

Boys advance to the quarterfinals against Silver Lake/Xaverian winner Monday.

We had the first of several tournament games during the remainder of this week today as girls soccer squared off with Taunton in the D1 South First Round. How did they fare and could they keep their season alive, let’s find out.

The girls finish with a 6-6-7 overall record. Congratulations to the team on a great season and good luck to the seniors in their future endeavors.

No games today either but starting tomorrow we will be getting back into action with the state tournament kicking off. Speaking of state tournament the last bracket (Girls Volleyball) was announced today and the weekly schedule has been updated to reflect that.

So there were no games today but there  was big news as the MIAA announced the brackets for both boys and girls soccer as well as Field Hockey. The last remaining bracket will come out tomorrow for Girls Volleyball so again check the weekly schedule tomorrow as it will be updated to reflect that. Also want to wish all Raider teams participating in the tournament this week the best of luck and hope for some great wins this week.

Ok so here’s a disclaimer for this week’s schedule, the MIAA tournament brackets for soccer, volleyball, and field hockey will be announced within the next couple of days which means that this weeks schedule will be changing as a result. As the brackets are announced I will be updating this schedule to reflect those games so keep checking back to this schedule over the next couple of days.
