Last night Reidy Field played host to game 1 of the AL finals on a beautiful night for baseball. The Reds despite having lost twice to the Pirates during the regular season got the better of them last night taking game 1 6-4. The Reds can take the AL title tonight (weather permitting) while the Pirates will look to force a deciding game 3 Sunday. Game time is 7 pm and Wellesley Sports Blitz will post the final assuming the game gets in tonight!

Today was a huge day in Raider nation especially if you’re a Raider Girls Tennis fan as the girls took to the Rockland HS court to take on Sharon for the D1 South title. Would the girls take home the hardware, we will find out but first here’s the answer to today’s Raider Friday Trivia question. It’s another beautiful Friday and that means it’s time for another edition of Raider Friday Trivia, this time for a Dunkin Donuts Gift Card! Today’s question is… what Wellesley native is currently head football coach at Tufts University? Answer in tonight’s Raider Recap!

With the school year coming to an end that also means the spring little league season is coming to an end and this weekend little league fans in town will be treated to the always exciting American League championship series. This year’s finals will be best 2 out of 3 and take place tomorrow thru Sunday all 7 pm start times at Reidy Field. This years finals matches the Pirates against the Reds who won their semifinal series over the Tigers and Cubs respectively. So, even if you don’t have a participant on either team come on out to Reidy for what is sure to be some exciting baseball action!

Today was all tennis all the time as the final two Raider teams still competing, the boys and girls tennis teams took on Barnstable on the road and at home respectively in the D1 South semifinals. Could both teams knock off the Red Raiders and keep their seasons alive, let’s find out!

The wet weather that came through our area today couldn’t stop the Raider girls lacrosse team who looked to keep their season alive as they hosted Hingham in the D1 South quarterfinals.
