The tournament is in full swing and three Raider teams (Field Hockey, Boys Soccer, and Girls Volleyball) are still in contention! Tomorrow promises to be a very busy day as all 3 are in action in their sectional quarterfinals. As always with the tournament the schedule is subject to change based on the results so stay tuned. Today was a big day tournament wise for Raiders fans as football looked to keep it’s undefeated season and road to Gillette alive as they hosted Bridgewater-Raynham in the D1A South Semifinals. Meanwhile boys soccer opened up tournament play on the road as they traveled to Silver Lake. How would it all turn out, we will find out, but first here’s the answer to yesterdays trivia question. The first tournament game played at Sprague field was… field hockey against Attleboro on November 1st, 2008 in the first round of the D1 South tournament. The Raiders were victorious that day coming away with a 3-1 victory. Now onto the recap!

Another day another tournament game in Raider nation, and this time it was a home game! Field Hockey had the honor as they hosted Bay State foe Braintree in the D1 South first round. Could the Raiders tame the Wamps and keep their season going, let’s find out!

It’s the first Friday in November and thus time for another edition of Raider Friday Trivia! Today’s question is…What was the result of the first tournament game played at Sprague Field? Answer in tomorrow’s Raider Recap!

Tournament week officially kicked off this evening as the Raider Girls Volleyball team traveled to North Middlesex for the first round of the D1 Central/West tournament. Despite being the 10th seed and traveling for the opener, the Raiders still had high expectations especially given that last year they made it all the way to the sectional finals. Could the team overcome the road atmosphere and score a big tournament win, let’s find out!

Girls advance to play Acton Boxborough in sectional quarterfinals!

The final Raider team to learn it’s postseason fate was Boys Soccer, who learned that fate this morning as the MIAA Boys Soccer brackets were released. The boys earned the 14 seed in the D1 South bracket and will travel to 3rd seeded Silver Lake at a date and time to be determined. The schedule will be updated once that information becomes available.

The Raider girls volleyball team found out their tournament fate today, and they get a familiar foe right off the bat. The girls earned the 10 seed in the D1 Central/West bracket and will travel to North Middlesex for the first round on Thursday at 5:30 pm. The winner then moves on to meet second seeded Acton Boxborough in the quarterfinals next Monday.
