Today we begin our look back at the 2016-17 winter sports season by taking a look at both the boys and girls basketball teams who both made it into the state tournament. The boys finished their regular season 11-11 and earned the 15th seed in the D1 South bracket. Unfortunately the boys season came to a quick end as they fell to Marshfield at home in the preliminary round. Meanwhile the girls team had a bit more success, finishing the regular season 17-3 to earn a Herget division title and the 4 seed in the sectional. The girls posted a home quarterfinal win over Marshfield before seeing their season come to an end in the sectional semifinals with a loss to top seeded Mansfield.
