Hockey Season In Review

Today we continue our look back at the 2016-17 winter sports season by looking at the boys and girls ice hockey teams, who much like their basketball counterparts both earned berths into postseason play this season. The girls hockey team captured yet another Herget division title finishing the regular season 13-4-3 and earning the 10 seed in the D2 bracket. After beating Stoneham in the preliminary round the girls saw their season come to an abrupt and heartbreaking end as they fell 2-1 to Westwood in overtime in the first round. The boys team had another successful season as well finishing the regular season 14-5-1 and earning the 2 seed in D1 South. After handling rival Natick 5-1 in the quarterfinals, the boys came up against another Bay State Conference foe Braintree, and unfortunately came out on the wrong end of a 1-0 game in the sectional semifinal clash.
