As we finally get into some spring like weather around here on this second Monday of April it’s time once again for another edition of Monday Poll. Last week’s poll asked you which major pro sports opening day you like the best and with 4 out of the 9 votes NFL opening day took home the top spot. Yesterday I asked you in the first April edition of Raider Friday Trivia what year the Terriers Sports Camp opened in the town of Wellesley? The answer is… 1991, as Terriers has been going strong for the last 26 years! On this first Friday of both April and the spring sports regular season there was quite a bit of Raider action as 6 teams in total took to the fields, courts, and lakes, including the first spring sports contest on the new high school turf field. How would it all turn out, let’s find out!

It is the first Friday in April, and it is a glorious day outside and also a great time for another edition of Raider Friday Trivia! Today’s trivia question is… what year did the Terriers Sports Camp first open in the town of Wellesley? Answer tomorrow night!

So unfortunately mother nature reared her ugly head today with pouring rain for much of the day and thus not only was the day a wash out but all scheduled Raider action as well. Both tennis matches and sailing were postponed with tennis being made up tomorrow. For updated information please go to the weekly schedule!

It was dreary and cold day, but that didn’t stop spring sports as boys volleyball traveled to Norwood looking to build on their season opening win over Weymouth while boys and girls track opened up their seasons against arch-rival Needham. How would it all turn out, let’s find out!

A little rain today didn’t stop boys lacrosse from heading up 95 to Burlington to open up their season against the host Red Devils. After finishing up last season with a first round tournament loss, the boys were looking to get things off on the right foot. Would they be successful, let’s find out!

Exciting news out of last night’s Wellesley town meeting. The plan for a multi-purpose recreational complex at 900 Worcester St. (Formerly St. James) passed the vote and is expected to be completed by Fall of 2018. The facility will include a hockey rink and swimming pool among other recreational items.
