For the second year in a row a Wellesley Little League team had a shot at advancing to the state final four of the Williamsport tournament, as this time it was Wellesley North who looked to keep their undefeated tournament run going as they squared off with Melrose in the section 3 finals. The two teams played during pool play with Wellesley taking home a 22-2 win and were looking for lightning to strike twice on the bigger stage. In other action the Lou Tompkins B squad squared off with Reading at home looking to get their first win of the season. We’ll find out how both games went in a minute but first the answer to yesterday’s trivia question. The Wellesley South 2012 state championship team had 3 of their regional games broadcast by none other than the New England Sports Network (NESN) who broadcast the team’s win over New Hampshire and loss to Connecticut in the pool play round, as well as their loss to New Hampshire in the semifinals. Now onto the recap!
