It was a busy day at the Wellesley College pool as all the Bay State Conference girls swimming teams gathered for the Bay State Conference meet. Coming off a 4th place finish a year, your Raiders were looking primed to vie for the top spot this time around. Would they be able to take home the crown, let’s find out!

It was certainly a busy Saturday of Raider action in both tournament and non-tournament games alike, as both girls soccer and field hockey looked to keep their seasons alive in the first round of the D1 South tournament while football hosted Newton North in their second non-playoff game. Would it be a trio of victories, we’ll find out but first here’s the answer to yesterday’s trivia question. The last time Wellesley beat Needham in a tournament contest was… 2015 when the Raider boys soccer team defeated the Rockets in the D1 South semifinals. Now onto the recap!

It’s the most wonderful time of the year… well at least in terms of fall sports, as today kicked off the post season for two Raider teams. Field hockey hosted Hingham while girls volleyball traveled to Shepherd Hill. Could both extend their seasons for at least one more game, let’s find out!

Soccer Tournament Info

The final teams to learn their postseason fates were the boys and girls soccer teams who’s brackets were released earlier today. The boys earned the 2 seed in D1 South and will host BC High in the first round on Friday, with the winner advancing to play the winner of Hingham and Weymouth. The girls meanwhile earned the 15 seed in the D1 South bracket and will host Durfee in the preliminary round on Friday with the winner advancing to take on Newton South. Happy Halloween everyone, and hope everyone had lovely night wherever you are, whatever you were doing. This afternoon officially marked the end of the fall sports regular season, as in the final regular season contest girls swimming hit the road to take on rival Natick. The girls were looking to complete an undefeated regular season, could they get it done, let’s find out!
