We are now less than 60 hours away from Wellesley-Walpole for the girls lax title. Yesterday it was officially announced that the game will start at 6:45 pm Saturday from BU’s Nickerson Field. That being said it is now time to take a look at how the 2018 Wellesley Raider’s got to this point. Enjoy the official Wellesley Preview!

As we count the hours till the D1 State Finals Saturday it’s time to take a look at Wellesley’s opponent and it’s a familiar one, the Rebels of Walpole. The Rebels come in undefeated in their first year in D1 having won the East sectional. The Rebels also were victorious in the two teams lone meeting this year winning 13-11 in Wellesley earlier in the season. Here’s a look at what you need to know about Walpole heading into Saturday’s showdown.

So following tonight’s East/Central-West semifinal the girls lacrosse opponent is known for Saturday’s state final. It’s a familiar foe to, as the Raiders will face off with the Walpole Rebels who beat the Raiders earlier this season. The weekly schedule has been updated to reflect this, although there is no time yet for the game, so stay tuned. Also starting tomorrow I will unveil previews for both teams heading into the big game.

It was another big night for girls lacrosse as fresh off their first sectional title the girls played for a spot in the state championship game, as they traveled just down the road to Babson to take on Chelmsford. Would the girls punch their ticket to BU, let’s find out!

Girls advance to face winner of Walpole/Longmeadow in state finals!

As we start a new week that could potentially see a Raider team crowned as state champion, it is also a perfect time for another edition of Monday Poll. Last week’s question saw probably unsurprisingly the majority of you (7-2) say that the Red Sox would win the AL East. This week’s question is…what kind of music do you like to hear most at a sporting event, rock, country, hip hop, or other?

We’ve come to the final week of the 2018 spring season, as the state semifinals and finals will all be contested within the next 7 days. For one lucky Raider team a path to state title glory still remains as girls lacrosse, fresh off their D1 South title yesterday, gets ready for a state semifinal battle with Chelmsford tomorrow. Information for that game will be posted below and then if Wellesley wins, I will edit and post a separate post with the state title game information. First things first though here’s a look at their state semifinal information!

Sectional final Saturday, oh what a day it was. Both baseball and girls lacrosse were vying for that sectional championship trophy, with baseball looking for their second in a row, while girls lacrosse was looking for their first in program history in their appearance in a south final since 2010. We’ll see if they got it done momentarily, but first here’s the answer to yesterday’s trivia question. The team that girls tennis beat in 2016 to win the state title was… Nashoba. It was day one of two in sectional final action for Raider teams as today girls tennis took center stage as they took on Bay State Conference foe Brookline in the D1 South final. Could the girls make it 2 sectional titles in 3 years, lets find out!

As we start what is bound to be an exciting 2 days of Raider sectional final action (girls tennis, girls lacrosse, and baseball) what better way to get things going than with another exciting edition of Raider Friday Trivia. As we get to the end of the spring sports season it’s time to look ahead to what’s to come in terms of the end of the spring/ start of the summer season. Following the conclusion of the state tournaments I will post spring season reviews for each team, and then in terms of summer programming don’t you worry there will be a lot of exciting stuff.
