Since ground was broken on the construction of the Wellesley Sports Center back in December 2017, both players and fans alike have been anxiously awaiting the Center’s opening which according to the Edge Sports Group that is operating the facility, is drawing closer and closer. The facility has hit a few snags with the construction process but is now back on schedule, and on track to open this spring. The facility will feature two ice rinks, a warm lesson pool and a 13 lane/25-yard competition pool, strength and conditioning center, sports pro-shop, and full-service concessions. Both the towns high school and youth programs will get premium access to the facility which is certainly a plus in a time of limited rink, pool, track, and field space.
