Happy Saturday everyone, and as we enjoy this Saturday morning it is time to answer yesterday’s trivia question. In 2006 Wellesley girls hockey defeated Westwood in the quarterfinals by a 3-1 score on their way to the state championship!

It’s a beautiful Friday morning and that means it’s time for another edition of Raider Friday Trivia. Today’s question is…Who did girls hockey beat in the quarterfinals of the 2006 D2 State Tournament? Answer tomorrow!

For the second straight year the Raider girls hockey faced off with Norwell in the D2 quarterfinals this time at Warrior Ice Arena. Last year the girls knocked off the Clippers 6-1, would this year be the same story, lets find out!

Girls advance to face Walpole in semifinals!

With the winter season wrapping up, it’ll be time soon to start looking back at the 2018/19 winter season. Starting next week we will post season reviews for each winter team, as well as some new content and then the following week i’ll begin previewing the spring sports season.

For the 3rd time in 4 years the Raider girls basketball team found themselves in the D1 South semifinals looking for their first trip to a sectional final since 2008. Standing in their way was a very familiar foe, the defending state champion Braintree Wamps, who the Raiders had defeated already this season. In other action the Nordic Ski team competed at the state championship. Could the girls make lightning strike twice and how would the skiers fare, lets find out!

Nordic Skiing: Girls finished 4th and boys 9th at state competition.

Despite the snow storm that graced our area with it’s presence over night, girls hockey was still able to open up their state title defense as they took on the same team they beat to capture that state title Canton in the first round. Could the girls get their tournament run off to a flying start, lets find out!

Team advances to face Norwell in quarterfinals!

It is a snowy Monday and while those of you around this area enjoy the snow day, what better time for another edition of Monday Poll. First of all quick programming note, girls basketball vs. Braintree has been moved to tomorrow, which has been updated in the weekly schedule. but girls hockey vs. Canton will be played as scheduled tonight. Now for today’s poll question, do you still go sledding as an adult?

As we enter the second week of postseason play, there are still 3 Raider teams competing in girls basketball, girls hockey, and nordic skiing. As is the case with last week’s schedule I will only be posting the days that there are games, and the schedule is subject to change based on results. Also worth noting is that with a snow storm expected tonight into tomorrow there is a chance games could be affected, so I will post any changes to the schedule as I get them. Here’s a look at what’s in store.

Boys hockey faced a tall task on this Saturday night as they looked to keep their season alive facing off against top seeded Duxbury in the D1 South quarterfinals. Before we get to that result however it’s time to answer yesterday’s trivia question. Prior to tonight the last time Wellesley and Duxbury met in a boys hockey tournament game was in 2011, a game won by the Dragons 4-3 in a shootout. Now onto the recap!
