On this final day of our 2019 fall sports previews we take a look at the football team. The team finished 5-6 overall last year earning a spot in the playoffs before falling to Barnstable in the first round. Coach Jesse Davis always has his teams ready and right in contention and I expect no less this year as the team will look for a return to the postseason.
Month: August 2019
Girls Swimming And Boys Golf Previews
On our second to last day of 2019 fall previews we take a look at girls swimming and boys golf who both are looking to continue their momentum after extremely successful 2018 campaigns. Girls swimming finished a perfect regular season at 18-0 and captured both the league and sectional crown before finishing second at the state meet. This team is always at the top of the Bay State Conference and I expect no different in 2019.
Boys golf finished 16-1 a year ago and also captured the league title. They then went on to finish third at sectionals and 5th at states. Like girls swimming the boys have established quite the track record for success and will look for more of the same in this new season. Tomorrow we finish up fall previews with a look at football!
Cross Country Previews
On this hump day we continue our previews for the 2019 fall season with both the boys and girls cross country teams. The boys finished last season a perfect 9-0 and then finishes second at both sectionals and states. I have no reason to believe the boys won’t be right there again as they look to capture a state title. The girls meanwhile finished 6-3 last year and finished 4th and 5th at sectionals and states respectively. Like the boys the girls have a strong history of success and fans should expect that to continue in 2019. Tomorrow we will preview girls swimming and boys golf!
Field Hockey And Girls Volleyball Preview
It’s day 2 of our 2019 fall sports previews as today we take a look at field hockey and girls volleyball. Both teams made it to postseason play in 2018 and are looking to go further this year. Field hockey won a tournament game last season beating Taunton in the preliminary round before falling to Somerset-Berkley. This years team will certainly have the hunger and desire that they always do as they look to make an even deeper run.
Girls volleyball was unfortunately one and done last year falling to Concord Carlisle in the first round. However this is another Raider team that year after year is right up there and I have no reason to expect anything less in 2019. Tomorrow I will preview both cross country teams!
Monday Poll
Hope everyone is having a great Monday, and with Monday comes another edition of Monday Poll. Today’s poll question is…Will the Raider football team have a winning record in 2019? Comment with your answers!
Soccer Previews
It’s time to begin our 2019 fall sports previews and we start today with both the boys and girls soccer teams. The boys had a banner worthy 2018 capturing the programs first ever South title and advancing all the way to the state finals. With a solid returning core including a very talented senior class look for the boys to once again be a top contender in league, sectional, and state play.
The girls also achieved a postseason berth last season falling in the first round to Whitman-Hanson. That being said like their male counterparts the girls have a solid core returning and will be looking to make even more noise in 2019. Stay tuned tomorrow as we will preview field hockey and girls volleyball!
Raider Friday Trivia Answer Plus Fall Sports Previews
Was on a brief 36+ hour hiatus but I’m back now and it’s time to answer Friday’s trivia question. Also beginning tomorrow I will be rolling out the 2019 fall sports previews, so keep an eye out!
