Monday Poll

Thanksgiving break is over and it’s time to head back to work and school, but not before another installment of Monday Poll, the last of December! Last week’s question saw not surprisingly Wellesley take the edge (8-3) in who people though would win the Thanksgiving game, which unfortunately did not bare itself out on the field. This week’s question is… Which Boston team is playing better at this point, Celtics, Bruins, or Patriots? Comment with your answers!

Winter Sports Schedules/Previews

Now that we have officially moved on from fall sports this week we will begin the process of looking ahead to the winter sports season. Beginning tomorrow I will unveil the schedules for the 2018-19 winter sports teams, and then the following week will have previews of all the winter sports teams so keep a look out!

Football Review

Here we are with the last fall season review for the 2018 season. Today we take a look back at football who just wrapped up their season yesterday. The team finished off the regular season 5-2, earning the number 4 seed in the D2 South bracket. Unfortunately their playoff run came to a quick end, falling to Barnstable 35-0 in the quarterfinals. The team then lost both consolation round games to Newton North and Braintree, before falling on Thanksgiving against Needham, to finish the overall season at 5-6. With a good amount of young players at key positions the team is primed to come back even stronger next year as they look to contend in both league and sectional play.

Raider Friday Trivia

Hope everyone is enjoying their Black Friday whether you decided to venture out shopping or not. Today is also a great day for another edition of Raider Friday Trivia. Today’s question is when was the last time before yesterday that Needham won both the Powderpuff game and Thanksgiving game in the same year? Answer tomorrow!

Girls Swimming And Boys Golf Reviews

On this second to last day of our fall sports reviews we take a look back at the outstanding seasons of both girls swimming and boys golf who both achieved tremendous regular and postseason success in 2018. girls swimming finished the regular season a perfect 18-0, going on to capture the Bay State crown, the sectional crown, and then finishing second in the state meet. The girls should have no problem being right back up there in 2019, as they have established a real pattern of dominance in the pool.

Boys Golf finished their regular season 16-1 in 2018 and also captured the Bay State title. They then went on to finish third in the sectionals and 5th in the states. Boys Golf has also established a tradition of success and I see no reason why they won’t continue that success in 2019.

Raider Recap 11-22-18

Happy Thanksgiving everyone, and hope you all had a great holiday wherever you went or whoever you spent it with. Today also marks the final Raider Recap of the 2018 fall season as it was the 131st installment today with Wellesley and Needham as the Raiders looked to extend their win streak in the series to 3 and finish above 500 yet again. Could they pull off the win on this cold turkey day morning, lets find out!

Result for 11-22-18

Football: Needham 14 Wellesley 13

Team finishes 5-6. Congratulations on another fun season and best of luck to the seniors in all their future endeavours!
