Yesterday I posed a 5 pack of Raider trivia questions to test your Raider sports knowledge. Below you will find the answers, so see how you did!

1. UMass Dartmouth was the sight of Wellesley football’s last super bowl title as they defeated Marshfield back in 1999.
2. Boys Lacrosse’s first tournament opponent at Sprague Field was Hopkinton in the first round of the D2 East tournament back in 2009. The Raiders won the game in overtime.
3. Wellesley and Needham met for the D1 South title in boys hockey back in 2008. Needham won the game 3-0 and would go on to win the D1 State title.
4. Rebecca DiBiase (09) was the Raider softball standout that went on to win a national title with Tufts University in the spring of 2013.
5. Prior to their state final four run in 2011 a Wellesley little league team had not made it that far since 2002. In fact between 2002 and 2011 no Wellesley team even made it out of the district tournament.

With it being Labor Day and with their being no games today or tomorrow I figured what better way to pass the time than a special edition of Raider Trivia 5 pack style. That’s right, 5 Wellesley Sports related questions, so if you think you know 1 or all 5 comment with your answers and see how you do! Answers will be posted tomorrow!

1. What college was the site of Wellesley football’s last super bowl title?
2. Who did Boys Lacrosse play in their first tournament game held at Sprague Field?
3. What year did Wellesley and Needham meet in the South Sectional finals for Boys Hockey?
4. What Raider softball standout went on to win a national title at Tufts University?
5. Prior to 2011, when was the last time a Wellesley Little League team had made the state final four?

Wellesley Sports Blitz would like to wish everyone a safe and happy Labor Day holiday and in particular the Raider sports teams who are entering their first week of regular season competition! Go Raiders!

Well Labor Day is upon us, and therefore so is the first week of regular season games for the 2016 fall season. It is an exciting time as all Raider teams will begin their quests for league titles as well as tournament berths. Let’s see what this week has in store.

Today we roll out the last schedule for the 2016 fall season, with the Raider football team, who is looking to duplicate a very successful season a year ago, and then some as they make the move into Division 1A this season. With that said, here’s the schedule!
