Trivia Round 2 Answer
So earlier today I asked what the result of the first soccer game played on the turf field was and the answer is… a 2-0 loss for girls soccer against Walpole, just about a year ago now. Stay tuned tomorrow as we’ll present the third and final special edition of Raider Trivia!
Raider Trivia Special Round 2
It’s another hot one out there, so stay cool and play along with another special edition of Raider Trivia. First things first the answer to yesterday’s question as I did not get a chance to post it last night, the first Wellesley score on the new turf field came courtesy of Grant Chryssicas who scored a touchdown in the first quarter of the football team’s 2016 postseason opener vs. Hingham. Today’s question is… what was the result of the first soccer match played at the turf field? Answer tonight!
Special Raider Trivia Part 1
With games still about a week away, and some idol days on tap, I thought it’d be fun to do 3 days of fall themed Raider trivia. Each day today, tomorrow and Thursday I will post one question and then the answer later that night. Today’s question is…who scored the first points for Wellesley football on their turf field? Answer tonight!
Monday Poll (Plus Programming Note)
It’s the last Monday of August which means it’s the last August edition of Monday Poll. Before that however quick programming note from tomorrow-Thursday in lieu of game action I will be posting special editions of Raider Trivia. Last week’s poll saw the overwhelming majority of you (14-7) say that pro wrestling is not a real sport. This week’s poll question is…would you rather win… tickets to the super bowl for life or World Series for life? Comment with your answers!
Raider Friday Trivia Answer (Plus Scrimmage Schedule)
With fall schedule and preview unveils out of the way and regular season games still a week away, I figured I’d give you a little sneak peek of our weekly schedule by posting the schedule of scrimmages for your Raider fall teams this week. Before I do that however I forgot yesterday to post the answer to Raider Friday Trivia. The player with the game winning hit in baseball’s South sectional title win in 2017 was… John Ciolfi who hit the eventual game winning triple in the 7th inning of the Raiders 3-1 win over Bridgewater-Raynham. Now onto the scrimmage schedule!
Monday 8-27
Field Hockey @ Dover Sherborn 3:30 pm
Tuesday 8-28
Boys Soccer vs. Newton South 12:30 pm
Girls Volleyball Preview
For today’s final fall sports preview we take a look at the girls volleyball team. The girls went 11-5 last year under first year head coach Tasha Odemwingle and earned a tournament victory over Shepherd Hill before falling to Groton-Dunstable. With that postseason success in 2017 the girls will be motivated to make an even deeper run in 2018, and I fully expect them to be right there in both the league and sectional mix this fall.
Raider Friday Trivia
It’s the second to last Friday of August and as summer is quickly coming to an end, it still is a great time for another edition of Raider Friday Trivia. Today’s question is…who had the game winning hit in baseball’s 2017 D1 South sectional title victory? Answer tomorrow!
Boys Golf And Girls Swimming Previews
On this second to last day of our fall sports previews, we take a look at both boys golf and girls swimming. Boys golf was very impressive in 2017 finishing 13-3, including an undefeated league mark. The team captured a 5th place finish at the sectionals match to close out the season. The boys did lose some key pieces but always seem to be in the hunt and I expect this year to be no different.
Girls swimming finished last season 12-0 and then captured second at the league meet, and first at sectionals, and then second at the state meet. The girls always are a force to be reckoned with in the pool, and I expect this year them to once again challenge on the league, sectional, and state level! Stay tuned tomorrow as we close out the week of previews with girls volleyball!
