It was the game that every high school athlete dreams of, the state championship. For girls hockey it was a chance to repeat as D2 champions as they faced off with Notre Dame Academy at TD Garden. Could the Raiders avenge a 2016 title loss and a regular season loss this year to the Cougars and come away with more hardware, lets find out!

We are less than 48 hours from face-off and it’s time now to look at your Wellesley Raider’s path to another TD Garden appearance. The Raiders are looking for their second straight D2 crown in what is their 5th appearance in the Garden in 6 years. Here’s a look at how they got there.

Happy Friday everyone, and since it is the best day of the week, it’s time for another edition of Raider Friday Trivia. Today’s question is… who scored the lone Raider goal in their 3-1 loss to NDA in the 2016 state title game? Answer tomorrow!

The MIAA officially announced today the start times of Sunday’s state title hockey games and the Wellesley girls will play the opener at 9 am at TD Garden. The weekly schedule has been updated to reflect this.

As we count down the hours to championship Sunday it’s time to take a look at the Raider’s opponent the Cougars of Notre Dame Academy. This is a familiar foe for the Raiders as not only is this a rematch of the 2016 state final won by the Cougars but these teams also met twice this season with NDA going 1-0-1 (1-1 tie, 3-2 win). Let’s take a look at how the Cougars got here.

Another season another state final appearance for girls hockey. The girls will face Notre Dame Academy Sunday at TD Garden in a rematch of the 2016 state final won by the Cougars. The teams also met twice this season in 2 down to the wire affairs. Tomorrow and Friday I will be unveiling previews for both teams as we get ready for Sunday.

For the 2nd year in a row and 5th in 6 years the girls hockey team played in a state semifinal with a chance to go to the Garden. This time it was a very familiar foe standing in their way as the Raiders squared off with Walpole who they tied 1-1 in their regular season meeting. Could the girls get back to the Garden again, lets find out!

The weekly schedule is going to be a little early as I will be away tomorrow and there’s only one team to report on as girls hockey remains alive for the D2 title. I’m only going to put the date of their semifinal game, and then if they win I will add the date of the title game.
