It was a busy day not only on the high school tournament front but on the little league front as well as between baseball and softball there were plenty of games to go around. Let’s see how it all went down!

On this first Saturday of June it was jam packed day of Raider tournament action as 4 teams were in action including 3 of which were competing in their tournament openers. Those teams were boys and girls tennis, and boys lacrosse who all opened tournament play at home while boys volleyball, coming off a quarterfinal home win over Taunton traveled to top seeded Needham. We’ll find out how it all turned out in a moment, but first here’s the answer to yesterday’s trivia question. The last time baseball won a road tournament game was… 2007 as they defeated Plymouth South in the preliminary road of the D2 South bracket. Now onto the recap!

On this last day of May there was actually one last regular season game to be played as softball hosted Weymouth for a makeup game at Lee Field. Despite both teams missing out the tournament each was looking to end their season on a high note. Who would come out on top, let’s find out!

The final team to learn their tournament fate was the baseball team as those brackets were released earlier this morning. The team, who is coming off an 11-9 regular season earned the 13 seed in the D1 South bracket and will travel to 4th seeded Mansfield Thursday for the first round.
