Today was the final game of the regular season for boys basketball who traveled to Milton, while girls hockey also traveled to Milton for their second to last game of the year and both boys and girls skiing competed at the state championships this morning. How did they fare, let’s find out!

Skiing: Boys finished 4th and Girls finished 6th at state championships
Girls Hockey: Milton 4 Wellesley 0
Boys Basketball: Milton 49 Wellesley 40
As mentioned before this is the final week of the regular season for both basketball and hockey which means that the state tournament is right around the corner. This year both Raider hockey teams and girls basketball will be participating in post-season play, and will find out their seedings later this week. The basketball seedings will take place this coming Friday (26th) while hockey will take place the following day, Saturday (27th). I will post on both days with the team’s seed and first round opponent and then will post more detailed information in my weekly schedule on Sunday.
On this Sunday there was one contest to be played as girls hockey took on Braintree in a make up game. Would the girls keep their good times rolling, let’s find out!

So last night I neglected to post a Raider recap as there were Raider teams in action yesterday as boys swimming, both cross country teams, gymnastics, and wrestling all participated in either sectional or state meets. Here are some of the results from yesterday.

Boys Swimming: Finished 9th at State Meet
Gymnastics: Placed 8th at Sectionals
Wrestling: Josh Cohen placed 3rd at states
Boys Cross Country: Thomas D’Anieri finished first in the 2 mile run
Girls Cross Country: Rachelle Parker finished 2nd in 300m dash
So no games today so no Raider Recap but I do have an answer to this week’s Raider Friday Trivia and that answer is… 2008. April 2008 to be exact was the first time that little league baseball was played under the lights at Reidy Field with an American League season opening double header that was actually umpired by yours truely! Anyway congratulations to Adam Pollock, winner of the two AMC gold passes.
So due to schedule constraints tomorrow I decided to post this edition of Raider Friday Trivia a day early. There is a prize this week and it is two AMC gold passes. The question is… what year was the first year that Wellesley Little League games were played under the lights at Reidy Field? Answer and hopefully a winner tomorrow night!
For the second third straight day there was just one Raider team in action as girls hockey concluded the Cape Cod Classic in Falmouth against LaSalle Academy. Would the girls finish on a high note, let’s find out!

On this hump day it was the Raider boys hockey team in action on senior day as they took on the Waltham Hawks. Could the Raiders get a win for their seniors, in what most likely will be their final game at Babson, let’s find out!

Only one game on the docket on this Tuesday of February break as girls hockey headed back down to Falmouth to take on Barnstable in day 2 of the Cape Cod Classic. While this was an exclusion game for tournament seeding purposes, the team is certainly looking to continue their positive momentum heading into tournament play.
