So for today’s trivia question I asked what year a Wellesley Williamsport team made it all the way to the state finals using only wood bats and the answer is… 2002. Wellesley Residents Shine In Hoops Spotlight
Some exciting Wellesley related sports news as Wellesley resident Patrick Benzan and his Holy Cross Mens Basketball teammates just won the Patriot League title last night defeating Lehigh to earn a spot in the NCAA tournament which starts next week. That wasn’t the only good news however for the Benzan family as Patrick’s younger sister Katie Benzan, a senior at Noble and Greenough helped guide the Girls Basketball team to a NEPSAC title over the weekend and just today was named Gatorade Player of the Year for girls basketball in Massachusetts. Congratulations to both Patrick and Katie on these tremendous accomplishments and best of luck to Holy Cross in the big dance!
